Company 61 was dispatched to respond normal flow for an odor investigation with L-61from Chief 61 who was on location. Deputy 61 arrived on location and along with the Chief smelled an electrical odor and  requested for E-61-1 to respond along with E-77. L-61 arrived on location and the roof was laddered with the main and a 24 foot extension ladder. The crew was split up with the TIC going to the inside and the others to the roof to check the HVAC unit. E-77 Stood by at the hydrant in the parking lot. The roof crews made access to the HVAC unit access panels and found no fire but the fan was not working and the motor was hot. Command had the HVAC unit disconnect turned off. Crews then vacated the roof and all equipment was returned to service and all units want available.
