Today, the borough of Hamburg honored the soldiers of the Hamburg Unit of the Pennsylvania National Guard by having a parade for them through the streets. The Parade began at the Hamburg Market (Port Clinton Ave & Third Street), continued south on third to windsor street turned east on windsor and then turned north onto Fourth street finally ending at the Hamburg Armory where a short service was held.

During the ceremony Mrs. Christine Ryan, director of the Hamburg Area Middle School Choir sang the Star Spangled Banner, and then finished off the service with God Bless America. The program featured dignitaries such as Rep. David Argall, and Rep. Tim Seip, also Tina Casko read a scripture.

Union Fire Co. No. 1 would like to wish the best of luck to all the soldiers leaving for Iraq.
