Co 61 was dispatched as part of the Zone 2 Tanker Taskforce for a Multi Alarm fire In Bern Township. Engine 61-3 Responded with a full crew as part of the task force however was then redirected from the taskforce assignment by Chief 55( Bern Twsp Command) to perform "brand patrol" duties as large glowing embers from the fire were carried several hundred feet by the strong winds. The embers threatened several houses and fields to the south of the fire building

Crews checked several locations, that were in the area of the fire before then returning for "Stand by Duty" while crews from Greenfields Co 55 were operating at the fire. Crews were released from standby duty around 6:30 am, before returning back to the borough.
